Jamie Grady is recognized as a leader in the nonprofit arts sector providing assistance and service to organizations for over twenty years. He has worked with a variety of organizations both nationally and internationally including theatres, orchestras, dance companies, and universities. As a professor and scholar, Jamie is regularly sought out as a conference speaker to share his work in emerging technologies and audience development, and is notable in the field through his published books and articles.
Jamie has over 20 years experience as staff, consultant, and board member in the nonprofit arts sector, including positions with Spoleto Festival USA, Actor’s Express, Hangar Theatre, New Jersey Ballet and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra to name just a few. He has served as a peer panelist for Tompkins County Community Arts Partnership, Fulton County Arts Council, and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
In 2000, Jamie began his academic career teaching theatre art management at Ithaca College. Subsequently, he served in teaching positions within Point Park University’s Sport, Arts and Entertainment program and at Mercyhurst University where he also served as the Director for the Mercyhurst Institute for Arts & Culture.
Jamie is the author of “A Simple Statement, A Guide to Nonprofit Arts Management and Leadership” and “Actor, Inc., How to Get the Next Gig – and Still Pay the Rent”. As a conference speaker and presenter Jamie has recently participated in numerous events including the 2014 PA Presenters Conference in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the ArtsReach National Arts Marketing Conference in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Los Angles, California, and New York, New York, as well as the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand’s 2011 Annual General Meeting in Auckland, New Zealand.
